After buying bus tickets for the trip from San Salvador to Esteli, on Transporte del Sol for $45 each, we left the beach at El Tunco for the hour ride by shuttle to San Salvador. To catch the shuttle you need to walk through town, out the guarded exit gate to the main road…and wait. Tortured in El Tunco
We left Anitigua, Guatemala via a shuttle and hit la playa at El Tunco, El Salvador around 6 hours later.
The mountains in Antigua and Honduras were great, but we were both looking forward to chilling at the beach for a few days. El Tunco is a popular surfing destination in El Salvador. Neither of us surf (yet!), but it was a great place for watching surfers! [Read more…] about Tortured in El Tunco
Entering El Salvador
After 2 1/2 weeks in Guatemala and Honduras it was time to head South into El Salvador. First stop, El Tunco.
La playa at El Tunco was a destination unlike any of the others we had yet experienced in Central America. One, it’s a beach. Hooray!
